As a Summer Camp Counselor at Camp Cooper, you’ll play an essential role in helping us continue our tradition of creating a safe, inclusive, and unforgettable experience for campers.
The Role of a Summer Camp Counselor
We are looking for passionate, energetic, and caring individuals to join our team of Summer Camp Counselors. In this role, you will be a friend, mentor, and leader to campers from around the world. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Cabin Care: Look after a group of 8-12 campers in a cabin, providing pastoral care, creating a safe and supportive environment, and fostering friendships. You’ll also be a role model, helping campers with homesickness, resolving conflicts, and creating a fun atmosphere.
- Activity Leader: Run at least one elective activity of your choice (Art, Sports, Football, Dance, Outdoor Adventure, Film Making, Performing Arts, etc.). You will plan and lead these activities four days a week, ensuring they are safe, fun, and engaging for all campers.
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside other camp counselors to assist with large-scale camp events, day trips, and parent communication during arrival and departure days. Teamwork is key to ensuring a positive and enriching experience for everyone.

What We Are Looking For
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience working with children or young people.
- Fluent in English.
- Ability to be a positive role model and work well with children.
- Experience and competency with at least one of our elective activities (Art, Sports, Outdoor Adventure, Dance, etc.).
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- A mature and responsible attitude, ensuring the safety and well-being of the campers.
Beneficial Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in a residential setting.
- Experience in teaching, coaching, or instructing.
- Experience working with children from diverse backgrounds or with limited English proficiency.

- Camp Cooper at Crieff: £4,200
- Camp Cooper at Dunbar: £3,600
- Camp Cooper at Stirling: £2,950
Gross wage before taxes and deductions. - Contract Length: 7 weeks (including mandatory training prior to camp start)
