Key Responsibilities:
As the Caretaker at The Salvation Army in Atherton, you will have a diverse set of responsibilities, ensuring the building remains in excellent condition for all users.
- Building Maintenance & Cleaning:
Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and general upkeep of the church building, both inside and outside. Ensure the facility meets high standards of hygiene, lighting, heating, and ventilation. - Key Holder Responsibilities:
Unlock and lock the building as required and take on the responsibility of a key holder when necessary. - Setting Up & Moving Equipment:
Assist with moving chairs, tables, and other equipment as needed to support cleaning and event requirements. - Health & Safety Compliance:
Maintain records to ensure the church building complies with health and safety regulations. - Maintenance & Liaison with Contractors:
Carry out small maintenance tasks and communicate with contractors for any larger repairs or maintenance needs.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a range of skills and qualities, including:
- Health & Safety Awareness:
Understanding of basic health and safety regulations and practices to ensure a safe environment. - Cleaning Experience:
Previous experience in a professional cleaning role, with knowledge of the proper use of cleaning equipment. - Basic IT Skills:
A basic standard of literacy, numeracy, and IT skills (e.g., email communication and online ordering) is required. - Practical Maintenance Skills:
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including basic building maintenance and repairs. - Self-Sufficiency:
